John Silver was born and raised on the Upper East Side, where one of his earliest memories is standing on Park Avenue with his mother, guessing the color of the spring tulips before they bloomed. Moments like these shaped his deep connection to New York —a city he knows not just by its streets, but by its rhythm, history, and energy. John brings this same passion to helping his clients find their home in New York City. Whether renting or buying, he believes finding a home should be an exciting and meaningful experience. With five years of sales and leasing experience in New York City, he offers clients an intimate knowledge of Manhattan and Brooklyn, combined with a personal, thoughtful approach to every home search. Real estate is more than just transactions—it’s milestones, new beginnings, and establishing foundations for life in the greatest city in the world. He is also an amateur writer, historian, and urban explorer with a deep fascination for mythology. In one of his more adventurous moments, John got locked inside a church overnight while exploring Jerusalem. John studied Religious Studies with a History of Art minor at Vanderbilt University which gave him a strong appreciation for architecture and design. A longtime regular at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, his favorite painting is Winslow Homer’s 'The Gulf Stream', and his favorite sculpture is Paul Manship’s 'Group of Bears'. When he’s not helping clients find their dream homes, you can find him playing basketball in one of Manhattan's many parks—no matter how hot it is outside. John is thrilled to be a part of Corcoran and be a partner on Philip Tabor's Team. John helps his clients navigate the New York market with knowledge, dedication, and a true love for the city.
"The true New Yorker secretly believes that people living anywhere else have to be, in some sense, kidding." – John Updike
